New Delhi born, Chirag Jain is one of the most popular contemporary Hindi poets. Proficient in every major genre of Hindi literature, he remains a subject of discussion not only among the common masses active on social media but also within the circles of scholars and serious readers of Hindi. Whether prose or poetry, Chirag has created mature works across all forms and emotional registers, establishing himself as a complete poet.
At the core of his writing lies a profound sense of humanity and compassion. His devotion to harmony is so deep that even when he writes on contentious or sensitive issues, he never allows his pen to fuel discord. On political and social subjects, his voice—remarkably impartial—often emerges as a soothing bridge even between the staunchest ideological opponents.
Chirag’s literary prowess is reinforced by his passion and dedication. In 2011, he secured a government position with the Airports Authority of India—yet, following the saintly philosophy of Santan ko kaha Seekri so kaam, he resigned after merely fifteen months to devote his life entirely to literature.
Active in the world of Hindi kavi-sammelans since 2002, Chirag Jain first appeared on the silver screen in 2003 on NDTV’s show Arz Kiya Hai. His presentation in SAB TV’s Wah-Wah (2005) left a lasting impression on viewers. Thereafter, through electronic media channels he continued to reach wider audiences, culminating in a powerful appearance on the renowned comedy show Laugh India Laugh in 2012 on Life OK. With this, Chirag firmly established his stature as a master of comic poetry.
Chirag recited poetry in many episodes of SAB TV’s popular programme Wah-Wah Kya Baat Hai. In 2013–14, his quick-witted presence on News Nation’s acclaimed shows Chunavi Chakallas and Nation Chakallas brought him special recognition. Influenced by the popularity of these segments, major news channels organized dedicated kavi-sammelans to present poetry to the masses. Aaj Tak even launched a special series inviting poets to give poetic commentary on contemporary issues, in which Chirag appeared multiple times.
From 2018 to 2024, he often appeared in News18 India’s prime-time show Lapete Mein Netaji, where he performed in nearly 250 episodes. Many of his satirical verses from this show became some of the most widely shared video clips across social media.
